Although a lot revolves around skiing in the Montafon, the valley also offers plenty of off-piste activities that are especially fun for families with children. Experience winter in a different way by going to the ice rink, tackling icy vertical meters with climbing equipment or having relaxed experiences with animals such as alpacas or horses.
Ice skating, ice hockey and curling are part of winter for you and your children? No problem, because you have the opportunity to do this in the Aktivpark Montafon. The sports equipment can be hired on site, after which nothing stands in the way of having fun together. On the artificial ice rink you can try your first ice skating, do leisurely laps or do elegant flips. There are also regular ice hockey games in the Aktivpark, which you can watch. “Fun ice hockey games” can also be organized if you or the little ones prefer to practice the sport actively.
In Schruns in the Montafon, you and your loved ones can immerse themselves in a true winter fairy tale. Enjoy a panoramic carriage ride through the beautiful snowy landscape. Sit back comfortably and wrapped in a woolen blanket in the horse-drawn sleigh as the snow crunches beneath you and the snow-covered trees pass by. Winter in the Alps is simply breathtaking. Make your holiday in the Montafon a unique experience that you will not soon forget and that your children will be happy to tell you about at home.
At herzbur you can book horse-drawn sleigh rides and get more information.
Another fun activity that you can also do off-piste and not only in summer is a winter hike with llamas. Horst Kuster’s fluffy llamas, who will even carry your luggage, make the day a real highlight for the whole family. Children in particular are very happy to be accompanied by the fluffy friends. The trekking tour lasts around four hours and introduces you to the history of the miners. At Gasthof Kristberg we stop for a delicious meal together before continuing to the St. Agatha miners’ chapel. Then hike back to Innerberg.
